Pepstudy

About this app

PepStudy Scanner is an operational tool for teachers and exam staff at
PepStudy partner schools. It is the companion app to PepStudy, used to
capture completed answer sheets and send them for evaluation.

A school-issued teacher account is required. The app is not useful
without one.

What it does

• Walk a class list and capture each student's answer sheets, tracking
who is done and who is still pending.
• Read the page number printed on each workbook sheet automatically, so
pages are filed in the right order without typing.
• Tell you at a glance which pages are still missing for a student
before you move on.
• Warn you when a sheet looks like it belongs to a different exam paper,
or when the same page has been captured twice.
• Flatten, straighten and clean up each photo on the device, so a sheet
photographed at an angle is stored as a readable page.
• Queue uploads and finish them in the background, so a weak signal in a
classroom does not stop the work.

Designed for the classroom

Capture is the slow part of marking, so the app is built around doing it
quickly and getting it right the first time: large targets, clear
progress, and a warning at the moment a mistake happens rather than
after the papers have been filed away.

Privacy

Photographs of answer sheets are uploaded to the school's own PepStudy
account. The app does not show adverts, does not share data with third
parties, and collects nothing from the device beyond the images you
choose to capture.

What’s new

Bug fix: resolved an issue where a new user's data could briefly show
the previous user's information right after switching accounts.
