I love that i can see my dogs but throughout the day it goes from color to night mode and vice versa, it doesnt stay a clear picture for very long. The quality is distorted most of the time and freezes. It takes forever for it to come back up. The app itself crashes. The cube is now clicking which is becoming extremely annoying.
I loved my petcube from july2016 to spring 2017 when it stopped connecting. Light stays solid no matter wgat outlet, new cord,reset. Customer service was very responsive over and over but totally useless, their advice never worked. Ie if my cube isnt blinking why instruct me turn on cube and wait for blinking light. It doesnt work. I thought it was a new update vs old model, but my husband thinks its electronic guts are broken and its cant boot up, that it is stuck in brick mode. I think they should have replaced my camera, or fixed it and returned it....after weeks of customer service email. I tried today dusting it off and doing all the customer service steps again, still not working...also see other customers w old models have problems, relating to updates not supporting okd models. Petcube please take care of your earlier customers. I love the product but esp since you wont fix it there is no way i will buy a new camera from you. Consumers beware.
The app definitely isn't the best; there are better programmed apps out there that run more smoothly. But it's nice to see my cat from 2,000 miles away, and their customer support is responsive and determined to help. I also understand that the video stream quality depends on connection, but I wish that the recordings of interactions could save in a higher quality after the stream is over.
My biggest issue is the app. It is not user friendly or logical at all. It takes a long time to figure out where to click to do the thing I want. But it has a side bar for all the things I don't want to do. We also recently started having issues with the video recordings. It does not get triggered by movement like it should. There will be times when it has recorded nothing but for some how the food bowl has gotten empty during that time, must have been an invisible cat. But then I have tons of 31sec videos of no movement. ugh. Also the timeline is off but only sometimes. My husband fed the cats at 7.55am but when I look at the feed it has a 4 sec trigger of movement at 7.04am. And it didn't even record the whole event, just the first 4 seconds! WTH? I will get notifications on my phone of recorded movement 10.18 and then I go to the recordings and there is nothing since 9.45. So weird. My last issue is with the camera being triggered by sound. I should be able to mute that, but no. Anything on the app that says mute or volume down, I have done but no. It keep being triggered by humans speaking in the background and recording no movement on video. I got my feed full of 31sec videos of these. But then when there is actual cat movement, I either get nothing or I get the first 5 sec of the movement which then cut off. As if I wanted to see my cat to move towards the bowl but not if they actually ate any. edit: now I get notifications that I have a video recorded but no new videos are in the timeline. I didn't have issues with any of this (except the un-userfriendly app) until in the last month or so. So maybe there was a new update or something that messed things up. :(
The app is really laggy. The camera shown on app is buggy almost 80% of the time when logging in, pixeled video, lagging sound really frustrates users.
Having the same issues with the update as Cathy Wallis since the update. Big mistake.
