Why is it free?
KlipSilo is a hobby project by a retired developer who wanted a clipboard and PDF app without ads, nags or data collection, and couldn't find one. There is no business model behind it. Nothing to sell, no ads, no subscriptions, and no data to harvest. The source code is public, so anyone can check.
Your data stays on your phone
• No account and no server. Your clips never leave the device unless you share, copy, export or open them yourself.
• The clipboard is read only when you tap save. KlipSilo never watches it in the background.
• OCR, QR scanning, conversion and viewing all run on the phone.
• Google Play Data Safety: no data collected, no data shared.
The fine print, honestly
• Location is optional. It's used only to save a place. To show a street address, coordinates may be sent to the device geocoder (usually Google).
• The camera is used only when you open the QR scanner or camera OCR.
• Locking a clip protects against accidental edits. It is not encryption.
• Android backup does not include clips. Use the ZIP export for a copy, which is not encrypted.
