The Bern University of Education is the training center for teachers in the Swiss canton of Bern. In addition to the training and further education of teachers, research and development as well as various services are part of the performance mandate. The PHBern trains teachers for all levels of elementary school, for secondary level II as well as school special needs teachers. More than 3000 students are currently studying in the various courses, some of which are unique in Switzerland, such as the bilingual course or the study-related career start.
