German license plates are a constant presence in your life: in everyday situations, when buying a car, in classified ads, or while traveling within Germany. Being able to reliably identify location codes saves you from constantly looking them up and allows you to quickly identify where a vehicle comes from.
The License Plate Trainer isn't a simple quiz or a static list. You learn with a system that automatically schedules repetitions and adapts to your personal memory. This allows you to practice precisely what you're unsure about and waste less time on material you already know. This makes training efficient and keeps you motivated, even if you only study for a few minutes at a time.
At its core is adaptive spaced repetition. The app takes your actual learning progress into account: If you return after a long break and still answer a card correctly, the intervals between repetitions are significantly extended. If you make a mistake, you'll be quizzed again sooner without losing your overall progress. This way, you build solid knowledge step by step, instead of constantly starting from scratch.
The core of the system is adaptive spaced repetition. You can practice in two learning modes. In multiple-choice mode, you train quickly and build routine. In self-assessment mode, you actively recall the answer: You think about it first, then the answer is displayed, and you evaluate whether you knew it, knew it just about, or didn't know it at all. In both modes, questions within a round are repeated until each one has been answered correctly once.
The content includes a total of 734 license plates and is structured by federal state, supplemented by additional entries.
You decide at any time which regions you want to practice and can change your selection later without losing your previous learning progress. Questions are asked in both directions: from the license plate code to its meaning and vice versa.
For a clear performance check, there are knowledge tests with medals. A separate test is available for each combination of category and question direction. All questions are asked once; depending on your result, you receive a silver or gold medal. Tests can be repeated as often as you like and show you what you've already mastered and what still needs practice.
Additionally, you can search all the cards and view details if you want to quickly look something up without interrupting your study plan. The free version has a daily learning limit and may display ads; Premium removes ads and limits and unlocks all content.
