PhoneGuard+ is a default SMS/MMS app with on-device message rules, call screening and optional DNS domain filtering.
MESSAGES AND FILTERING
Choose PhoneGuard+ as your default SMS app to receive, view and send SMS/MMS. Organize messages with sender and keyword rules, including allow rules, Junk, Promotions and Transactions. Message filtering runs on your device. You can change your default SMS app in Android settings at any time. Messaging and MMS availability depend on your device, SIM, carrier and network.
YOUR OWN RULES
Create and edit rules yourself. The optional AI Rule Builder sends the description you enter to a remote AI service to suggest rules. Review the suggestions and choose which rules to save. It does not automatically upload your inbox or incoming messages to the AI service. Do not include private message content or sensitive details in a rule description.
CALL SCREENING
Choose PhoneGuard+ as your Android call-screening app to match eligible incoming calls against local number lists and your custom allow and block lists. Coverage depends on the calls Android supplies to the app, your device and carrier. PhoneGuard+ does not answer or record calls and does not request call-log access.
OPTIONAL LOCAL VPN FILTERING
Ad Killer and Phishing Filter use Android VpnService to check supported DNS domain requests against local ad, tracker and phishing lists. Matching domains are blocked on the device. Unmatched queries use the DNS resolver configured for the underlying Wi-Fi or mobile network.
This local VPN does not change your location, provide an anonymity service, decrypt HTTPS or send ordinary web traffic to a PhoneGuard+ VPN server. Android allows one active VPN at a time. Private DNS, encrypted DNS within apps, direct IP connections and unlisted domains can bypass filtering. It cannot remove every ad or detect every harmful website.
CONNECTION AND EMAIL CHECKS
Review Wi-Fi connection and security information available from Android, inspect selected device security settings, and run a network speed test. These checks do not certify that a device or network is free of threats.
Check an email address for exposure records returned by the online checking service. Optional monitoring repeats checks in the background when Android schedules them. Results depend on the service's available records; an empty result does not prove that an address or account is safe.
YOU CONTROL ACCESS
SMS handling, call screening, local VPN filtering and optional notifications use their respective Android approvals. Online email checks send the entered email address and a device identifier to the PhoneGuard+ API. AI rule generation and speed tests contact their service providers. Review the privacy policy for data handling and deletion information.
