Hi, I'm Muyao.
I've been playing RPGs since 2013. I'm usually the host and forever GM, but I recently joined a lovely campaign playing my Spore Druid, Yperite.
Now that we're playing in crowded "taverns" (usually boba shops) instead of at my own table, I don't want to risk my dice rolling off the table and disappearing forever. They're incredibly sentimental to me, as most of them are gifts from my players throughout the years. But just tapping a button to trigger a generic dice animation wasn't cutting it either.
So, I built Phroller using an actual game engine. By letting you control exactly how you toss your dice, my goal is to replicate the actual satisfaction and joy of throwing the real thing. I know there's still a lot of work to do to perfectly bridge the gap between a phone screen and the tabletop, but that's exactly what this project is all about.
Nothing beats real dice. I'm making Phroller the next best thing.
Sincerely,
Muyao "Bob" Wu
Selling points:
Easy to read dice:
The results light up while the other numbers dim. Making the d20 the easiest to read ever!
Optimized for real play:
The app is wicked performant. I went through a ton of deep dive optimizations so the powerful physics engine effectively goes to sleep whenever dice aren't actively being rolled. And wakes up instantly the moment your finger touches the tray. Allowing for minimal battery drain during long gaming sessions.
Easy to read results:
Aggregate results displayed in format based on number of dice! Separate tracking for different dice styles. Perfect for war-games and RPGs requiring multiple sets/colors of 6 sided dice!
Slick and Intuitive UX:
Drag one die to roll it. Drag the background to roll all them all! Customizable trackers and sliders so you won't need to use your spin down dice for health/victory point keeping either.
Most satisfying dice roller:
Light vibrations based on dice clanking to capture that bag of marbles feeling when you grab a bunch and when they land!
Customize everything:
Add custom artwork, photos, gifs to your dice tray to make them your own.
Add custom symbols and icons to your dice faces to really bring home your personal branding.
Beautiful art that inspire:
I'm constantly working out collaborations with various artists, photographers, game publishers, cosplayers and all sorts of other creatives to add more unique dice and dice trays featuring their work. Please reach out if you want to have your work featured in Phroller too.
And much, much more!
