EXAM FORMATS COVERED
Wolverhampton — 28 questions, 45 minutes. Score 21/28 AND get all 8 key questions right, or the paper fails.
Solihull — 48 questions across 6 categories, 60 minutes. Score 36/48 to pass.
Birmingham — 18 questions across 3 sections, 45 minutes. Max 4 mistakes in Legal + Licence Conditions combined, max 2 per section, and all 6 Plying for Hire questions correct — or the test fails.
Coventry — 56 questions across 6 papers, 60 minutes. Road Knowledge asks you to type the street name for 10 real locations (8/10 to pass). Safeguarding requires all 6 correct. Other papers need 6/8 or 12/16.
Tamworth — 31 questions across 5 sections, 60 minutes. All 5 must pass: a receipt-writing exercise (max 1 mistake), plus English & Arithmetic, Highway Code, Legislation & Conditions, and Local Knowledge.
Sandwell — two separate exams, each marked on its own: Knowledge Test (10 questions, 8/10 to pass) and Safeguarding Test (5 questions, 4/5 to pass).
Dudley — 20 questions, 30 minutes. Score 16/20 to pass.
Walsall — 23 questions, 45 minutes. A main paper of 20 questions (18/20 to pass) plus an additional 3-question section on disability discrimination (2/3 to pass). You must pass both parts.
