Disappointing. I want to be able to "chase" a .ts recording-in-progress. I run NPVR on Windows, V4 on port 8867, V5 port 8866. The app defaults to 8867, I can't find a way to change to 8866. The app won't recognize a second server setting. I shouldn't have to reconfigure my NPVR Windows to accommodate the app. VLC for Android won't allow pause/ff/jump with .ts files. KODI, while buggy, lets me configure to either port, works with .ts, allows me to "chase" a recording. KODI gets my vote.

As I have multiple devices including an Ipad, I downloaded the apps for each. The Ipad app has a slicker interface but works pretty much the same as the Android app. I installed the backend on my Win10 machine without issues and forwarded the proper port within my router settings. Fired up the apps on both devices (though not at the same time) and each worked well on the home lan. I then used both devices away from my home network and each app worked great. The developer did a good job making his trifecta usable and easy. My thanks to him. I noticed others have complained of the cost but for the backend (free) and the $13.98 (2x $6.99) for the apps, I feel it was a steal deal.

I don't know why I'm asked to rate ads within the app: the app doesn't have any ads. Mostly, I've found that this app works fine, as long as I'm trying to watch a programme that is playing on another one of my devices. If I try to watch a programme that is different from the programme playing on the other device, nothing happens: I just get a blank screen. In other words, it doesn't seem to be possible to watch two different programmes on two different devices.
