Valves is the compact practice app for all brass players who want to confidently link notes and fingerings. Whether you're a beginner or advanced player, Valves lets you specifically train your ability to quickly recognize pitches and the correct valve combinations on your instrument – ​​offline, ad-free, and without an account.

HOW IT WORKS

The app shows you a random note on the staff. You tap the valves you would press and receive immediate feedback. Correct answers build sequences, incorrect answers show you the correct solution.

GAME MODES

• Practice – relaxed learning without time pressure, including "show solution" help

• Time Attack – play as many notes as possible in 30 seconds; Correct answers earn a time bonus, mistakes cost time

• Hardcore – play correctly indefinitely, one mistake ends the run

FEATURES

• Switch between C, Bb, F, and Eb notation or set your own transposition

• German (H/B) or international (B/Bb) note names

• Accidentals can be activated individually: natural notes, sharp (#), flat (b), double sharp, double flat

• Fingering chart with enharmonic notations – e.g. B. G# and Ab are both displayed

• Add and save your own alternative fingerings – ideal for fingering variations in the lower or upper register

• Auto-check: The app automatically grades your answers after a short pause; no need to tap "Check Answer"

• Note name display can be optionally turned on or off

• Haptic feedback for answers and interactions

• Statistics: Overall success rate, best streak, most difficult notes per instrument, daily streak, and 90-day history

• Dark and light modes – automatically adjusts to your system settings
