About this app

EasyScan turns your phone camera into a document scanner. Capture a page, correct its edges and image quality, recognize the text on the device, and export the result as a PDF, an image, or a plain-text file.

Scanning, image processing, and text recognition all run on your phone. Your documents are not uploaded to a server for processing, no account or sign-in is required, and there are no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

Capture

- The camera finds the corners of the page for you, and when you are scanning several it waits for the next page and takes the shot itself.
- Bring in a photo you already took from the gallery and process it exactly the same way.
- Adjust the detected contour by hand when a page needs it, then crop the result.

Edit

- Choose how each page is rendered: Original, Color, Gray, Black and White, or Strong Shadows.
- Set the paper size and orientation per page, from A3 to a business card, with Letter and Legal among the presets.
- Build multi-page documents and drag the pages into the order you want. Scan, keep and share as many pages as the job needs, then send them as one file or a few.
- Every page carries its own settings — its own color mode, its own paper size, and its own recognized text — so one document can hold a color receipt and black-and-white contract pages without compromising on either.
- Editing is non-destructive. The original image and the original recognized text are both kept alongside the processed page, so any change can be undone, adjusted, or applied again later without rescanning.

Text recognition (OCR)

- On-device OCR reads 100+ languages, including right-to-left scripts.
- Recognized text opens in an editable view, so you can correct mistakes before you export, and your changes are kept with the page.
- Export a searchable PDF, where the text sits in the file as a hidden layer you can search, select, and copy.
- Language packs download the first time you pick a language, and that is the one step that needs a connection. Scanning and recognition then work offline.

Export and share

- PDF, with five compression presets from Lossless to Extreme when file size matters.
- PNG or TIFF images, or the recognized text on its own as a TXT file.
- Everything goes out through the standard Android share sheet, so a scan can go to mail, messaging, cloud storage, or a printer.

EasyScan suits receipts and invoices, contracts and agreements, ID cards, book and article pages, handwritten notes, and multi-page paperwork you would otherwise photograph and struggle to read later.

EasyScan is built on the Pixelnetica Document Scanning SDK and shows its edge detection, perspective correction, image enhancement, and on-device OCR working in a real app. The complete source code is published on GitHub:
