PJM Interconnection, founded in 1927, ensures the reliability of the high-voltage electric power system serving 65 million people in all or parts of Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. PJM coordinates and directs the operation of the region’s transmission grid, which includes over 84,042 miles of transmission lines; administers a competitive wholesale electricity market; and plans regional transmission expansion improvements to maintain grid reliability and relieve congestion. January 2026: app works well for the basic information. Update, July 2024: Nice they fixed the notifications on Android! June 2023 review: Great app, clearly lots of work was put into it with visible progress. Just need to fix notifications in Android (literally says in Android 13 system settings: "This app doesn't send notifications" while I've set up a couple..)

The app provides some insight into the PJM power demand, but lacks data freshness. Renewable and generation fuel mix updates seems to be second level priority often having large spans of no updates (hour plus), doesn't seem this get the same internal as the rest of the information. This could learn from the MISO app in terms of both what information could be provided and UI. Why isn't this getting reliable 15 minutes mix updates? Wish it could breakdown emissions and fuel mix by zone.

This app has plenty of useful info but its extremely buggy and the notifications work when they feel like it(not often). We use this app to help determine how to run our equipment and make important decisions and it cant be counted on to provide the notifications on price we need.
