About this app

QR code scanner and barcode reader with a built-in QR code generator.
Point your camera, get the result. No account, no ads, no tracking, no
background data. Nothing runs unless you run it.

── SCANNING (FREE) ──

Scan QR codes and barcodes with the live camera — no button to press, no
photo to take. Or scan a QR code from any image already in your gallery.
Flashlight toggle for dark rooms, optional auto-flashlight, and a haptic
pulse the moment a code is read.

PlainQR recognises 19 code types and gives each one the right action:

· URL — open in your browser, after a safety confirmation
· WiFi — connect your device to the network in one tap
· vCard and MeCard — save straight to your contacts
· Calendar — add the event to your calendar
· Phone — dial it. SMS — open a pre-filled message
· Email — open a pre-filled compose window
· Location — open it in your maps app
· WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Twitter, FaceTime, Skype — open in the app
· Bitcoin and PayPal — open in your wallet
· App Store links, and plain text

Scanned data is shown as a labelled field table, not a wall of text.
Long-press any field to copy it. Comma, semicolon, pipe and tab separated
data is laid out as a table.

Links are never opened without asking first. The confirmation dialog shows
the full URL before anything happens. You can turn that off in Settings,
but you have to acknowledge the risk.

── QR GENERATOR (SIX TYPES FREE) ──

Create your own codes, free, no unlock needed:

· URL — encode any web address
· Plain text — encode any message or note
· Phone — scanning it opens the dialler
· Email — encode recipient, subject and body
· SMS — encode a number and a message
· Location — type an address and PlainQR converts it to coordinates, or
tap GPS to use where you are right now

The code previews live as you type. Every code exports as a branded share
card: save the PNG to Downloads, send it through the share sheet, or print
it. Choose a light or dark card, add a label like "Guest WiFi", or copy the
raw content.

── $0.99 UNLOCK ──

One payment. No subscription, no expiry, restored automatically on every
device signed into your Google account. It adds three more generators:

· WiFi — encode your network name and password. Anyone who scans it
connects instantly, without typing a password or reading one out across
a room. Your current network name is filled in automatically.
· vCard — encode your name, phone, email, organisation and title, so
scanning saves your details straight to someone's contacts.
· Calendar — encode a title, date, time and location as a standard
vCalendar event, for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.

It also removes the free-tier banner from the bottom of the scanner.

Comparable apps charge $5.49 to $6.99 for their paid tier.

── HISTORY ──

Every camera scan is saved locally, with no limit and no upload. Tap any
entry to reopen the full result with all its action buttons. Delete entries
one at a time or clear everything at once. Turn auto-saving off in Settings
and a Save button appears on the result card instead.

── PRIVACY ──

PlainQR has no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no advertising
framework. It collects nothing. The only network calls it makes are to
Google Play Billing for the $0.99 purchase, and to submit feedback if you
choose to send it.

Scan history stays on your device. WiFi passwords from scanned codes are
never written to disk. Generator coordinates are never stored or sent.
