About this game

Backfire is competitive multiplayer trivia built for modern trivia night. Pick your categories, split into teams, and outscore your rivals on a shared board—fast matches, full-board showdowns, and high-pressure team clashes.

GAME MODES
• Classic: Six topics and wagers on the full board. The standard Backfire match with complete setup and maximum strategy.
• Quick Play: Pick 3, 4, or 5 topics for a faster match with the same team energy and wager options.
• Random: The app draws each question for you. No wagers, pure speed and surprise.
• Rumble: 2, 3, 4, or 6 teams. Each question assigns two teams who answer in turn. Multi-team chaos with timed windows.

HOW A MATCH WORKS
1. Choose your mode and set up teams.
2. Select categories that fit your group (gaming, science, geography, pop culture, general knowledge, and more).
3. Play on a shared topic board: answer questions, bank points, and control the pace of the match.
4. Use wagers, lifelines, and bonus rounds when the score tightens.
5. Finish with a clear recap so everyone knows who owned the night.

WAGERS — RISK & REWARD
Before a question is revealed, the current team can wager. Multipliers include 0.5×, 1.5×, and 2×. Correct answers multiply your points; incorrect answers deduct. Play safe to protect a lead—or go all-in when you need a comeback.
