Crosswords 2026 is a word puzzle game with picture clues, short definitions, and letter tiles. Read the clues inside the grid, drag letters into empty squares, and complete intersecting words. It brings a Scandinavian-style crossword together with a tile box: you can hold up to 8 letters at a time.

PICTURE CLUES AND WORD CLUES
Recognize an object in a drawing or work out the answer to a short definition. Pictures and written clues share the same board, with arrows showing the direction of each answer. The clues sit beside the words, so there is no separate list to scroll through while you solve the puzzle.

Use the length of an answer and the letters already on the board to narrow down your choices. A picture may give you a word straight away, while a written clue may take a little more thought. Both lead into the same network of crossing answers.

BUILD WORDS FROM LETTER TILES
Tap the box to draw letters, then drag each tile to a matching square. With up to 8 tiles available at once, you have a small set of letters to consider. Look across the grid for a place where one of them fits. Each correct placement can help you make sense of another clue.

You do not have to tackle the hardest answer first. Start with a familiar word, fill the squares you can, and return to the other clues as more crossing letters appear. A single letter can turn a vague guess into an answer you recognize.

HOW TO PLAY
• Read a clue or look at its picture.
• Drag a letter tile into the correct square.
• Tap the box when you need more letters.
• Use the light bulb when you need a hint.
• Complete the grid to finish the level and move on.

A correctly placed letter stays in the grid. Move between different parts of the board as you work out the answers. Word knowledge helps, but so does paying attention to the available tiles, the direction of each answer, and the letters that two words share.

A HINT WHEN YOU ARE STUCK
Sometimes a familiar word stays just out of reach. The light bulb hint helps you place a letter and continue solving. Use it on a stubborn clue, or try another area of the crossword first and come back with more information from the crossing words.

DAILY CROSSWORDS AND LEVELS
Work through the regular levels or return for the daily crossword. Keep a daily streak and earn in-game rewards as you complete levels. You can spend a short break on a few clues or stay with the puzzle until the last empty square is filled.

Each board gives you a fresh set of connections to work through. The challenge is to match the letters you have with the answers the grid needs, then use those answers to unlock the next part of the puzzle.
