M3U Playlist Editor – IPTV Player & Playlist Management for Android
The M3U Playlist Editor is a comprehensive solution for managing, editing, and playing IPTV playlists in M3U format. The app is designed for users who want to organize their own playlist files and play them on various devices. It is optimized for Android smartphones and tablets, as well as Android TV and Amazon Fire TV Stick, and automatically adapts to the respective device.
Important note: This app does not contain any playlists, channels, or streaming content. It serves solely as a player and editor for user-generated M3U files. All content must be imported by the user.
Playlist Management and Import
The M3U Playlist Editor allows you to import M3U files via the accompanying web application. Playlists can be imported via file upload or URL. After import, the playlists are automatically available in the Android app. Each playlist is displayed with detailed statistics, including the number of entries, groups, and file size.
Channel Browser and Group Filters
The app offers a clear channel browser that displays all entries in a playlist in a scrollable list. Channels can be filtered by group, so that, for example, only channels of a specific category such as sports, news, or entertainment are displayed. Within the channel list, the logo, channel name, and the current and next program from the electronic program guide (EPG) are displayed for each channel, provided an EPG assignment exists.
An integrated search function allows you to quickly find channels by name. The search scans all entries in the selected playlist in real time. Additionally, groups can be marked as favorites for quick access to frequently used categories.
TV Mode with Remote Control
On Android TV and Fire TV Stick, the app is displayed in landscape mode and is fully controllable via remote control and D-pad. All interactive elements have visible focus frames, so it's always clear which element is currently selected. Navigation is done using the arrow keys, and selection is made using the OK button.
Two TV display modes are available. Classic mode displays a traditional channel selection overlay over the current stream, similar to classic cable television. Modern mode presents the channels in a modern card layout with preview images and program information. The preferred mode can be selected in the settings.
Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
The app features an integrated EPG display that shows program information for the channels. In the channel browser, the current and next program are displayed directly below the channel name. The EPG data is loaded automatically in the background.
The accompanying web application allows for EPG mapping, which automatically links the channels in the playlist to EPG data sources. Matching is done automatically using channel names with a fuzzy search that works reliably even with slightly different spellings.
In the app settings, a playlist can be linked as an EPG playlist. This link is saved per user.
Supported Languages
The app is fully available in ten languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Croatian, and Arabic. For Arabic, the user interface automatically switches to a right-to-left layout. The language can be selected in the app settings.
Supported Devices
The app runs on Android smartphones (Android 7.0 and later), Android tablets, Android TV devices, and Amazon Fire TV Stick.
