Ratings and reviews

Generally works well. Has some issues. Can't share links from others apps to this one. Images are too small. Hides images with adult tags even if you set it to show all images (got a reply to my bug report saying they'll fix this). It does a good job on the basics and they seem to be responsive if you have a complaint so I imagine it's going to keep getting better

App itself is great. Solves cross posting to the fediverse beautifully. However, one usability crushing feature seems to be missing. Maybe it's a Samsung problem or I've missed something but openvibe doesn't seem to be registered in the share menu. My most common use case is trying to post a link and there is no way to start a post via the share menu. I have to copy the URL then find and open openvibe and then paste. Easy 5 stars if such a crucial feature wasn't missing.

This is a better app on iOS. The functionality is all here, but it's pretty buggy in implementation, with problems like in-app gestures overlapping with system navigation for accidental app exits and a lot of general jank when scrolling your feed. I get the sense the team has a lot of experience developing for iOS but very little when it comes to Android, I hope they consider bringing in a dedicated Android dev with a little more experience on how to target the platform more effectively.

What’s new

We’ve added Openvibe to your system share sheet—now you can share content directly from your browser, photos, or other apps and crosspost without friction. We also fixed Android rendering issues, improved date formatting to match your system settings, and added a quick profile switch with a long press on the overview icon.
