Ratings and reviews

The standard is too low, even at the hardest level ("expert") I a foreign amateur with little experience (and never played in real life on a board) could still easily beat the AI and never lost. The AI never knows how to promote chess pieces. Only suitable for a beginner. If you are a professional player, don't ever use this to practice your skills.

just learning to play, and this app is very helpful and beginner friendly! fyi, if you can't tell the gold and silver generals apart, i heard a tip that they both look like houses, and the gold general is the bigger house :) !

Shogi is a fun and engaging pastime. I was initially inspired to play, and it led me down a surprising path: learning the piece movements also helped me pick up the Japanese symbols and strategy. Highly recommend this game!
