About this app

The Track Precision App is your digital track tool for automatically recording video and Car Data and analysing it afterwards.

The Porsche Track Precision App is available for the following Porsche models in combination with the Sport Chrono Package and Porsche Connect equipment options:
- 991/981 GT vehicles from model year 2015
- 991 II/982 from model year 2017 (from week 45/2016)
- All 992 derivatives
- Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan from model year 2022

Variable use options
With the 'Laptimer' function, you can automatically measure your lap time on the race track and display the real-time deviation or your performance live.
For trips on public roads, the 'Freedrive' function can be used to capture special moments with photos and videos along the route.

Automatic lap time recording
Thanks to precise GPS data, lap times can be automatically recorded.
You can select your desired track from over 300 predefined race tracks worldwide or simply create your own.

Precise Car Data recording
The Porsche Track Precision App is connected with various control units through the Porsche Communication Management system or a special app control unit and records accurate data from the vehicle sensors.

Video analysis
While driving, use your smartphone or the optional Porsche Dashcam to record up to two videos from different angles to analyse later.
Videos are available to view on your smartphone right after your drive – enhanced with useful driving data to improve your performance.

Driving performance analysis
By connecting to the vehicle sensors, the app enables you to analyse additional driving data after your drive, which can be compared with previous drives, allowing you to improve your performance, for example, in relation to the steering angle, braking pressure and the accelerator pedal's position. Videos and driving data can also be exported to your PC for detailed analysis.

The full range of app functions with live displays is only available when you drive your vehicle on routes that are closed to the public and are supported by the Porsche Track Precision App.
Secure your smartphone in a holder designed for this purpose. Park your vehicle safely before operating the application or viewing evaluations and analyses.
The accuracy of the displayed values, evaluations and analyses cannot be guaranteed as conditions can vary.
The use of GPS on a smartphone can decrease the smartphone battery life if the phone is not connected to one of the vehicle charging options.
Operation of this product (including the video recording feature in particular) could be prohibited by laws or regulations in specific markets or events. Before using this product, please check that it is permitted under local laws and regulations.

Ratings and reviews

I've had success in my Samsun S24, ensuring no other apps running and PCM turned off. I get solid connection, and it correctly created a track map for Area 27 (not in the list?) Cloud sync is convenient for data, but getting video is less so since it's not part of sync - an export/import gets you there, but video playback is inconsistent. There also needs to be a simple way to end a session and save data - requiring proximity to start/finish is often not an option in DE sessions.

It's nicely designed and I'm sure it's great when it works, but unfortunately, as soon as I connect to the car (2023 982) wifi, the app closes. If I try to run it again, it closes immediately. Once I disconnect from the WiFi, and go back to my own wifi that has Internet access, then the app opens. Motorola edge 2022. I wish there were logs I could send out.

it somewhat works and certain features are promising. It connects and records nicely to my S24 Ultra. My issue is that when I export the video, the synchronization is completely off. The steering overlay, pedals etc are not synchronized with what is visible in the video. In the end, the value of this app is in data, and if data can't be correlated to video, it's not all that useful.
