Presence — a gentle safety net for people who live alone
Living alone shouldn't mean facing a quiet emergency alone. Presence quietly watches for the everyday signs that you're up and about, and if things go unusually quiet for too long, it gently lets the people you trust know to check in on you.
No buttons to press every day. No wearables to charge. Just your phone, quietly looking out for you in the background.
How it works
• Presence notices simple, everyday signals on your phone — like unlocking it, your screen turning on, or putting it on charge.
• It quietly learns your normal daily rhythm, right on your device.
• If you go quiet for much longer than usual, Presence checks in with you first.
• If you don't respond, it notifies the trusted contacts you've chosen, so someone can reach out.
Privacy first — by design
Your privacy is the whole point. Presence is built to know as little as possible:
• It looks at how you use your phone, never what you do on it.
• It never sees your messages, your calls, your photos, the apps you use, or your location.
• Your activity pattern is worked out and stored on your own device.
• You stay in control: see what's collected, pause anytime, and withdraw consent to delete your data whenever you want.
You're in control
• Choose your own trusted contacts.
• Set how long "too quiet" should be before anyone is alerted.
• Pause monitoring when you're travelling or away.
• Tap "I'm okay" anytime to stand things down.
Who it's for
• People who live alone and want a quiet safety net.
• Older adults and their families who want peace of mind without intrusive monitoring.
• Anyone who'd like someone to know if they went unexpectedly quiet.
Please note Presence is a supportive check-in tool, not an emergency or medical service. In an emergency, always call your local emergency number. Alerts depend on your device, connection and settings, and are delivered on a best-effort basis.
