Unless I'm mistaken, if so I'll update, but it seems you have to have this game open, not in the background, and your screen unlocked for it to track. This seems like some odd requirements while I'm going for a run down the road. I was assuming you would start it when you start your workout and then be able to check your progress when you're done, but if you put your phone in your pocket or try to play some music it seems to pause. That doesn't make sense or seem safe to me.

Hi, the live play mode is more intended for indoor use. It shows your hero battling in a 3D environment to provide a distraction and motivation. For outdoor workouts we recommend syncing your workouts from outside networks that we integrate including Apple/Google Health Connect, and Strava.

If you're looking for a high-fantasy RPG, where the grinding happens via real-life exercise, and your character's in-game strength is a reflection of your own improved fitness — then look no further! Cardio Quest provides a massive motivation boost when it comes to working out. And it's not chocolate-covered brocoli (a veneer of gamification painted onto a fitness app) — the gameplay is compelling, with some well-designed mechanics, and with just the right level of challenge.

great game to keep you wanting to get out for a walk, or do your favorite exercise. this is the first thing I have ever put money towards on Kickstarter because I want to see what else can be done with this game. its a bit like WoW on auto play. only criticism I have is that there is alot thrown at you to figure out, but once you do, its so much fun.
