Area management and land order
The magazine “Surface Management and Land Management” contains scientific articles with a high practical relevance to promote the sustainable use of land. The range of topics addressed includes the collection and digital provision of data on land use, including its analysis via integrated planning and land management processes to determine and implement goals for the development of cities and rural areas through to the valuation of real estate.
Land is a scarce resource that is of utmost importance to the existence of humanity. It is essential for the production of food, the creation of jobs and the provision of housing as well as all the necessary infrastructure. Therefore, there is a need for resource-saving and efficient use of land so that the needs of society and the concerns of the individual are appropriately balanced.
This requires adequate instruments and processes that ensure intensive and early involvement of the entire society in the development of future goals and their implementation. Accordingly, there is a need for suitable spatial planning instruments, such as regional planning, municipal land-use planning and specialist planning, and land management, such as reallocation and land consolidation, which are implemented in a coordinated manner.
The magazine “Surface Management and Land Management” therefore contains articles that highlight current developments, provide well-founded methodological principles and present practical solutions for individual cases. In addition to science, it is aimed at the public sector, with a particular focus on cities and municipalities, as well as all social actors and interested citizens.
