About this app

Aura helps you spend less time on distracting apps and more time on what matters.

Instead of relying on guilt or hard lockouts alone, Aura uses a simple system:
complete habits, earn sunlight, and use that time intentionally when you choose to unlock blocked apps.

With Aura, you can block distracting apps, set a daily screen-time budget, and create a healthier relationship with your phone through small repeatable actions.

Key features:

- App blocker for distracting apps
Choose apps you want to limit and let Aura step in when your boundaries are active.

- Habit-based unlock system
Complete habits like self-checks, timed resets, or movement-based tasks to earn sunlight and unlock apps mindfully.

- Daily budget and unlock controls
Set a daily budget, control temporary unlock duration, and reduce impulsive app use.

- Insights and usage patterns
Review screen time, most-used apps, block suggestions, and usage trends with day and week views.

- Secure blocklist protection
Protect unblock actions and blocklist edits with a PIN or pattern. Optional biometric recovery is available on supported devices.

- Local-first privacy
Your core data is stored on your device using local app storage. No account is required to use the app.

- Gentle setup and reminders
Onboarding helps you configure Usage Access, Accessibility, overlay permission, notifications, and your starting budget.

How Aura works:

1. Add distracting apps to your blocklist.
2. Set your daily budget and protection preferences.
3. Complete habits to earn sunlight.
4. Spend that time intentionally when you decide to unlock an app.

Aura is designed for people who want a practical digital wellbeing tool for habit building, screen time control, focus support, and mindful app blocking.

Important permissions:
Aura may request Accessibility Service, Usage Access, and Display Over Other Apps permissions to detect blocked app launches, show the blocking overlay, and generate app usage insights. These permissions are used only for the app’s blocking and awareness features.

No medical claims:
Aura is a productivity and digital wellbeing tool. It is not a medical or mental health treatment app.

Usage Access disclosure:
Aura uses Usage Access to show your app usage insights, identify most-used apps, and support block suggestions. This data is used only on your device to power awareness and reporting features.

Display Over Other Apps disclosure:
Aura uses Display Over Other Apps permission to show the blocking overlay when a blocked app is opened. This allows the app to interrupt distracting app launches with your selected unlock flow.

Biometric disclosure:
Biometric authentication is optional and is used only as a local recovery or confirmation method on supported devices. Aura does not store biometric templates.
