About this app

Private Folder is a personal security vault for the parts of your digital life you'd rather keep to yourself — private notes, saved passwords, and photos, videos, or audio meant for your eyes only.

It's built around one uncompromising rule: your data never leaves your device. Private Folder requests no internet permission at all, which means it is technically incapable of sending anything, anywhere — not to us, not to advertisers, not to anyone. No accounts. No sign-ups. No analytics. No ads. What you store stays with you!

WHY PRIVATE FOLDER

100% offline. No internet permission means data collection isn't just against our policy, it's structurally impossible.
Real encryption, not a marketing word. AES-256-GCM for your content, Argon2id for your master password, and a fully encrypted database underneath everything.
No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Just a vault and a password.
Honest about its limits. If you forget your master password, your data cannot be recovered by you, by us, or by anyone. We tell you this plainly before your vault is ever created.
SECURE NOTES

Write and organize private notes with a full rich-text editor: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and bulleted or numbered lists. Each note is individually encrypted before it ever touches your device's storage.

PASSWORD MANAGER

Save the website, username, and password for every account you use. Passwords stay masked by default, with a simple tap-to-reveal toggle and one-tap copy to clipboard when you actually need one — never shown unless you ask.

PHOTO, VIDEO & AUDIO VAULT

Hide your private photos, videos, and audio recordings behind your master password:

Import media through Android's standard system picker. Private Folder never requests broad access to your photo library, only the single file you pick.
View photos full-screen with smooth pinch-to-zoom, double-tap zoom, and one-tap rotation.
Play video and audio with a full seek bar, so you can scrub to any point in a file.
Export anything back out to your device's gallery whenever you want it outside the vault again.
Even large video files are encrypted safely in fixed-size chunks, so nothing sits unencrypted in memory, no matter how big the file is.
SECURITY, BUILT IN

AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption for every note, password, and media file.
Argon2id key derivation for your master password: deliberately slow and memory-hard, specifically to resist brute-force attacks.
A fully encrypted local database, not just encrypted individual files.
Screenshot and screen-recording blocking while the app is open.
Root and tampering detection, so you know if your device's security has been compromised.
No cloud backup, ever. Your vault is excluded from Android's automatic backup system, so it exists in exactly one place: your device.
YOUR PASSWORD, YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

Because Private Folder never stores your master password anywhere, we cannot reset it, recover it, or bypass it for you, and neither can anyone else. That's what makes your data genuinely private: there's no back door, because there's no door at all except the one only you hold the key to. We ask you to confirm you understand this the first time you set up your vault, and we mean it.

WHO IT'S FOR

Anyone who wants a private place for the parts of life that aren't meant for a shared gallery, a synced notes app, or a browser's saved-password list — students, professionals, or anyone who simply prefers to keep some things to themselves.

No internet permission. No accounts. No ads. No tracking. Just your notes, your passwords, and your media: encrypted, offline, and entirely yours.
Private, encrypted, 100% offline vault for photos, videos, notes & passwords.
