About this app

Hitpan is a makeup try-on, a shade finder and a makeup tutor in one app — free, ad-supported, no account, and your collection stays on your phone.

TRY IT ON BEFORE YOU BUY IT
Put makeup on your own face, live or from a photo. Eleven layers, each with its own shade, finish and strength:

• Lipstick, lip liner and gloss
• Blush, bronzer, contour and highlighter
• Skin tint
• Eyeshadow, eyeliner, lashes and brows

Choose matte, satin, cream, gloss, shimmer or metallic. Move the intensity slider. Hold the picture to see your bare face underneath. Every look you build is a stack you can take apart, change one thing in, and put back — not a filter.

FIND YOUR SHADE, MEASURED RATHER THAN GUESSED
Take one selfie and the app measures your complexion and undertone from the actual colour of your skin, using the same method used to classify skin tone properly: an ITA° reading in CIE Lab, sampled from four parts of your face.

You get a depth, an undertone, and a confidence score that tells you WHY it is or is not confident — poor light, uneven light, a colour cast, a reading near a boundary. It is an estimate and it says so. And it never leaves your phone.

Then everything in the app is about your colouring: foundation matches, lipsticks that suit you, blushes in your undertone.

TUTORIALS THAT POINT AT YOUR FACE
Eighteen step-by-step tutorials, and the interactive ones put a numbered marker on YOUR face at the place the step is talking about, with an arrow in the direction to blend. Where the blush goes. Where the contour goes. Where the wing starts.

Every step is about placement, because placement is what people actually get wrong.

WHAT YOU ALREADY OWN
Add what is on your shelf and the whole app starts using it:

• The shade identifier matches a colour you point the camera at against YOUR items
• The dupe check warns you before you buy the fifth version of the same thing
• Every look tells you which of your own products it would need
• Track how far through something you are — and celebrate the day you hit pan
• Countdown from the day you opened it, with a reminder before the date passes

TWELVE FULL LOOKS AND SIX OCCASIONS
Everyday, bold lip, smoky eye, winged and clean, soft glam, no-makeup makeup and more — each with the technique behind it. Plus what actually changes for work, university, a date, a wedding, a party or a photograph, and why.

COMPARE TWO SHADES PROPERLY
Side by side on the same face in the same light, with a slider between them. Two swatches tell you which is redder; two shades on a face tell you which one you would wear.

WHAT LEAVES YOUR PHONE
Your collection, your photos, your saved looks and your profile never leave this device. There is no account and no server. Face detection runs on-device. Ads are served by Google, which receives your advertising ID and device IP — that is the one thing that leaves, and the app says so plainly in Settings.

This app does not ship a database of other companies' shade names. It matches against your own shelf and a library of colours described in plain terms — depth, undertone, family, finish — which is the honest answer and the one that keeps your collection yours.
