Castle Tower Inspection Route is a focused, offline inspection-route journal for anyone who walks a fixed sequence of towers, buildings, or checkpoints and needs a clear record of what was checked, what needs attention, and what was documented.
It is built for castles, fortresses, historic estates, ruins, and tower complexes -- but the workflow works for any site made up of an ordered list of structures.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Create a site (for example, a castle or estate).
2. Add its towers.
3. Build an inspection route -- an ordered list of towers to walk.
4. Start an inspection and move through the route in order.
5. For each tower, mark it Checked, Needs Attention, or Skipped.
6. Add notes, photos, and structured checklist results as you go.
7. Finish the route and review a clear summary.
8. Track every open attention item until it is resolved.
CORE FEATURES
- Sites, towers, and ordered inspection routes with drag-and-drop reordering.
- Tower-by-tower inspection statuses: Not Checked, Checked, Needs Attention, Skipped.
- Optional structured condition checklist (walls, roof, windows, doors, stairs, masonry, drainage, vegetation, and more), including your own custom categories.
- Attention items with category, severity, and status, plus a full history of edits, monitoring, resolution, and reopening.
- Photos attached to towers, tower inspections, and attention items, stored only on your device.
- Photo points for repeatable, consistent photos of the same spot over time, with side-by-side or swipe before/after comparison.
- Notes at every level: site, tower, inspection, tower visit, and attention item.
- Inspection history with filters by site, route, tower, status, and date, plus a monthly calendar view.
- Route history: total runs, last run, average completion, and the most frequently skipped tower.
- Optional target inspection intervals per route, shown as a neutral target date -- never a demand or alarm.
- Local search across sites, towers, routes, attention items, and notes.
- Export inspection and attention item records as CSV, plus a plain-text summary, using your device's standard share sheet.
- Favorites and archiving for sites, towers, and routes, with historical records always preserved.
- Optional inspector signature capture when finishing an inspection.
- Attention item trend charts by month and severity on site and tower screens.
- Duplicate a site or route as a ready-made template for a similar new location.
DESIGNED FOR THE FIELD
The layout uses large tap targets, clear text-based status labels (never color alone), and a calm, high-contrast palette that stays readable outdoors. Every screen is built to be used one-handed while walking a route.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Castle Tower Inspection Route works completely offline, including in airplane mode. There is no account, no registration, and no login. There is no backend, no cloud sync, and no server of any kind. There are no analytics or tracking SDKs. Location services, GPS, and maps are never used -- a route is simply an ordered list of towers, not a geographic path. Photo access is only requested at the exact moment you choose to add a photo. All data and photos stay on your device unless you explicitly export and share them yourself.
AN HONEST RECORD-KEEPING TOOL
This app records what you manually observe and enter. It does not perform structural, engineering, or safety analysis, and it does not offer professional inspection conclusions. Every status and attention item reflects your own judgment, recorded clearly and kept in an organized, searchable history.
