Ratings and reviews

over the course of 4 years I have gained 4.5% (yrs, 1.1% per year on average). it would be much higher but I have a ridiculous amount of losses even though 95% of my loan choices are A and AA. My total losses from charged off or defaults is more than 50% of my gains. Putting money in a savings account is a safer option. Especially when there's no gains to be made using prosper, only risks. collecting cans and getting the deposit gives better yields than this garbage.

The app itself is wonderful. The inability to trade notes, coupled with the low yield, makes the service itself unattractive. It does allow for you to diversify your overall portfolio, which I encourage, but you are not going to get rich. The rating system is certainly better than it was in the past, but you will be very lucky if you achieve the advertised targets. If a trading platform was introduced, my review would change dramatically.

Not sure what people are doing wrong. I'm at 16%. Actually read the profiles before investing. Investing in a person is far riskier than a stock or a bond. If the income seems suspect or the debt ratio is high, it's a bad investment. Not complicated. Zero missed payments on any note. Edit: first charge-off this month after using the app for four years. Still up 7% overall.
