Take the night shift at a roaring blast furnace. Fill the charge bin with ore, coke and lime in the right ratio, ride the hot blast to hold the furnace inside its ideal heat band, then open the tap hole at the perfect moment to pour glowing iron.

Tap too early and slag ruins the batch. Tap too late and the hearth overheats. Run too hot and accretion chokes the furnace; run too cold and it freezes solid. Watch for flying sparks and put them out before they scar the lining.

Every shift wears the furnace down and every new night gets tougher. Spend your gold in the supply shop on six real upgrades: reinforced lining, precision scale, coolant spray, thermal jacket, slag skimmer and night rations.
