About this app

You can open Instagram. We just will not let you lose the next hour to it.

PullBack is a gentle mid-session interrupt for distracting apps. Choose the apps you want to limit and set a timer. When time runs out, PullBack shows a brief pull-back screen and returns you to your home screen. The app you were using stays available, but the automatic scroll has been interrupted.

HOW IT WORKS

PullBack watches only the apps you select. Open one as usual and use it normally. When your chosen time is up, PullBack gives you a clear stopping point and returns you home.

There is no shame, forced breathing exercise, or permanent block. PullBack adds one useful interruption at the moment you are most likely to have lost track of time.

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE DISCLOSURE

PullBack uses Android's AccessibilityService API for its core purpose. The service notices when an app you chose to limit is in the foreground, times that session, shows the pull-back screen when the timer ends, and performs Android's Home action to return you to your home screen.

The AccessibilityService accesses foreground app package names and window-change events. It also checks limited interactive-window metadata to distinguish picture-in-picture windows. PullBack does not read screen text, passwords, messages, form fields, or keystrokes, and it does not traverse screen content.

Foreground package names and session timing events are stored only on your device for timers, stats, and recovery. AccessibilityService data is not transmitted, sold, or shared. It is used only to provide PullBack's foreground-app timing and pull-back features.

During setup, PullBack shows this disclosure before opening Android's Accessibility settings. You can decline and continue without enabling the service, although PullBack cannot detect or interrupt selected apps while it is off.
