• Practical home tools:
Weather on your home screen, contact shortcuts, widgets support, and a simple setup flow so your launcher feels yours from the first open.
ALL FILES ACCESS (Files hub)
Pulse Launcher optionally uses All files access only for the Files hub, so you can:
* Search and open files across your device’s shared storage
* Filter by type or date, and pin file shortcuts for quick reopen
* This permission:
• Is used only for Files hub search, open, filter, and pin features
• Is not used for wallpapers or themes (those use the system Photo Picker)
• Does not upload, sell, or share your files with third parties
• Can be turned off at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Pulse Launcher → Special app access → All files access
Enabling All files access is optional. If you do not enable it, Pulse Launcher still works as your home screen; only the Files hub features that need broad storage access will be unavailable.
ACCESSIBILITY PERMISSION (AccessibilityService API)
Pulse Launcher optionally uses Android’s AccessibilityService API for two home-screen shortcuts only:
* One-finger double-tap → opens the system Recent Apps screen
* Two-finger double-tap → locks / turns off the screen (Android 9+)
* This permission:
• Is used only to trigger these two system actions (Recent Apps and Lock Screen)
• Does not read, monitor, or collect screen content, passwords, messages, or other personal data
• Does not change system settings without your action
• Can be turned off at any time in Android Settings → Accessibility
Enabling Accessibility is optional. If you do not enable it, Pulse Launcher still works as your home screen; only the Recents and Lock Screen shortcuts that rely on AccessibilityService will be unavailable.
Other gestures (swipes, L/circle shortcuts, Quick Apps) do not require Accessibility.
WHY PULSE
* Pulse Launcher focuses on a calm, intentional home experience: fewer distractions, stronger visuals, and settings that stay out of your way until you need them.
