The Asian hornet (Vespa velutina nigrithorax) is an invasive species of hornet that appeared in neighboring countries - Hungary, the Czech Republic and Austria in 2023 and 2024.

This insect poses a serious threat to bees and other pollinators, thereby negatively affecting biodiversity. It also causes damage to beekeepers, winemakers and fruit growers.

An effective tool for its regulation is monitoring and reporting its occurrence, which is what this application serves.
