What is Kakapo?

A cute, slightly goofy AI bird that talks back to you.

Speak to your Kakapo and it replies in its own adorable voice. Don't expect perfect answers, though -- its charmingly off-beat responses are what make every conversation surprising and fun.


[Raise It From an Egg]

Your Kakapo starts as an egg. Name it with your voice, and it hatches. Every Kakapo is born with its own personality -- some friendlier, some livelier, some chattier than others. It follows you with its eyes, and a tap makes it jump in surprise or flap with delight.


[Talk and Watch It Learn]

Kakapo picks up your words over time. The more you talk, the bigger its vocabulary grows. Sometimes it says something unexpectedly clever -- or hilariously random.

Its voice is transformed from yours, so your Kakapo sounds like no one else's. It's truly your own bird.


[Feed and Care for Your Bird]

Earn fruit by talking, then toss it to your Kakapo to eat. Feeding earns feathers that let you decorate your planet and customize your bird's colors. Make it look just the way you want.


[Ask Questions, Collect Voices]

Put a Question Board on your planet, and your Kakapo takes your question and pins it up. Other players answer with their voices, and the answers arrive in the board's mailbox.


[Visit Other Players' Planets]

Go on Planet Visits to explore other users' planets and meet their Kakapos -- each one has learned different words and has its own personality. You can answer their questions with your voice, too.

8.1 (sunny, with a few clouds)
Someone took my picture under the night sky, mid-sentence. That's my new face, apparently. I woke up on top of my starry planet, so I'll wait for you here. The button pictures are all new, and I come close while you choose colours. However big I grow, my words won't hide my face. When I'm hungry I skip the tree and wait by you for fruit. The photos in Planet Visits got bigger. And I mended the notification icons, and a few other bits.
