About this game

Two players. A grid of dots. Draw a line, close a box, take another turn.
Boxed In is the pencil-and-paper game you already know, built for a
touchscreen and sized for one hand or two.

FOUR OPPONENTS, AND THE LAST ONE IS SERIOUS
Beginner blunders on purpose. Easy plays safe. Hard knows the double-cross —
it will hand you two boxes to take twenty back. Expert solves the endgame
exactly, and once the board breaks into chains it does not make mistakes.
If you have beaten every Dots and Boxes app you have tried, start at Hard.

COACH TELLS YOU WHY
Most players lose for years without learning why, because taking every box
you can is exactly how you lose. Tap Hint and Boxed In shows you the move and
explains it: which chain you are about to open, how many boxes it concedes,
when to hand two back to keep control. Two free hints a day.

PLAY BACK THE GAME YOU JUST LOST
Post-game review replays the whole game and marks the moves where it turned,
with the solver's answer at each one. It tells you when its judgement is exact
and when it is a rule of thumb, because a coach that pretends to certainty is
not worth listening to.

MADE TO BE PLAYED
Four board sizes, the biggest reserved for tablets. Pass-and-play on one
device. Six themes, from paper and ink to true black. Sound and haptics you
can turn off. Your game saves itself and picks up where you left it. Works
offline, always.

BOXED IN PRO
One purchase, no subscription: removes ads, unlocks unlimited hints, post-game
review, three exclusive themes, and free undo against the AI. The whole game
is there without it — every board, every opponent including Expert, every free
