Rain on a window, a quiet coffee shop, and white noise, pink noise and brown noise: seventeen hand-tuned ambient sounds, mixed at whatever levels you like. Some rooms are too loud to settle into. Some are too quiet, which is worse. Patter fills either one.

Rain on its own wears thin after an hour. Put a coffee shop under it, drop the fire to about fifteen percent, add brown noise when the room next door gets loud. Every sound has its own switch and its own slider, so the mix is yours rather than a preset someone else picked.

Then lock the screen and forget it. Patter keeps playing, and the notification steps through the presets without you opening anything. Nothing to check later, no streak to keep, and no session length to configure. It plays at the levels you set until you turn it off, and it remembers where you left it.

WHAT YOU GET
Seventeen sounds that all play at once, each with its own slider.
Eight presets, one tap each, for when you don't feel like building a mix.
Playback from the notification and the lock screen, with the presets on the previous and next buttons.
Audio that keeps going in the background while you use everything else, and with the screen off.
Everything works offline. There is nothing to stream and nothing to wait for.

THE PRESETS
The eight are Rainy Café, Thunderstorm, Open Fields, Night Train, Seaside, Evening Fire, Deep Focus and Commute. Tap one and it replaces the mix; move any slider afterwards and the mix becomes your own again.

THE SOUNDS
From nature there is rain, thunder, wind, a forest, a morning and a meadow. From water, waves and a shore. From places, a coffee shop, a crackling fire, a city by day, a city at night, a train and a bus. Then the three that are not places at all: white noise, pink noise and brown noise, the real thing rather than a filtered approximation. All seventeen are included, and nothing is held back for a higher tier.

THE CRAFT
The rain is fat drops on a window, recorded from inside. The coffee shop is one small quiet cafe rather than a crowd loop. Every recording is professional field audio, cut and looped by hand with no audible seam, so rain can run all night without you finding the join. If you came to this from ASMR, the close-mic detail is the point: the fire crackles rather than roars, and the cafe is a room you could describe. Nothing snaps on either: each sound gets an equal-power fade going in and coming out, and a slider ramps rather than jumps. A phone call pauses Patter and it comes back on its own afterwards. Unplugging your headphones pauses it instead of surprising the room.

WHAT PATTER DOESN'T DO
No subscription. One payment and the seventeen sounds are yours for good.
No ads. Not a banner, not an interstitial, not a rewarded video.
No account. Nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign in to.
No tracking, and no internet permission at all. Not limited access, not access you can revoke: Patter cannot open a network connection, so there is nothing it could collect about you. Every sound ships inside the app and works on a plane.
