HexGuard is an officer and lone-worker safety app for organisations using the Hexlitix platform.
SOS AND EMERGENCY ALERTS
Raise a duress alert to your organisation’s control room. When SMS notifications are configured and permission is granted, HexGuard can send emergency messages containing your identity and location to your selected emergency contacts.
SOS can be triggered using the in-app button, a supported Bluetooth panic button, or the optional volume-button shortcut.
LIVE LOCATION
Report your location and device status to your organisation’s Hexlitix system. Reports are buffered when the connection drops and uploaded when connectivity returns.
BACKGROUND LOCATION
During active tracking, HexGuard collects and reports location while the app is in the background or the screen is off. This supports personnel safety and incident response.
ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE
The optional volume-button SOS shortcut uses Android’s AccessibilityService API to detect volume-up and volume-down pressed together. This allows an SOS to be triggered without opening HexGuard. The service does not read screen content or perform screen automation.
SMS FEATURES
Configured SMS notifications can include SOS activation, cancellation and low-battery alerts. Supported off-grid configurations can also send location updates by SMS. SMS availability depends on the device, permissions, carrier and coverage.
ACCESS REQUIRED
HexGuard requires your organisation’s server address and invitation code. Contact your administrator for access.
IMPORTANT: HexGuard is not a standalone app. It only works for organisations running an active, licensed Hexlitix system, and you will need credentials issued by your own administrator. There is no public sign-up, and the app has no function without them.
