Lifehacker stopped updating now for a week. Bummer. Update November, doesn't work at all now. sent feedback several times, no response. Developers don't seem to care. Rubbish app. Update! No longer a rubbish app, Lifehacker fixed also whole app seems stable now. So 5 stars and a huge 'hank you' to develop red for sorting things.
It's getting worse..when you click continue to read, it constantly attempt to open the app store and there's no way of getting out of the loop.
I am sovery glad to gave installedcthis app for the wide coverage of news it providesxthe user with and design and general features are excellent I'd give the app more stars if I could.
Since starting to use this app I have had full-screen noisy ads even when this app is not in the foreground, even when NO app is in the foreground, for example in the first minute after rebooting my device. MULTIPLE OTHER ISSUES: 1) The main menu is not a home-screen, so using the device back-button takes the user OUT of the app instead of back to the starting menu. 2) In landscape mode on a tablet or larger screen, the items are a LONG way from the check-boxes, so it's visually hard to see which one has a tick. Bands of alternating colour would help 3) Choosing sources is difficult because (a) the order is apparently random, not alphabetical or by location, (b) generic names like ABC, Age, Guardian, Times, World, Independent, give no indication where in the world they are from. 4) When a news story appears to load correctly, and you start reading, the page often disappears to be replaced with a full-screen NOT FOUND message, just because one item of embedded content fails to load. 5) After reading a news item, there are wasted "back" steps to return to the menu, even showing the item preview again. 6) Sources cannot be deleted from the main menu (where you can see if they have zero items), OR from their own view (where you can judge the quality of the items). Instead you must memorise the name and go to the ADD SOURCE page to remove them. 7) While in some cases links to related stories can be opened within the app, in other cases they are opened in your web browser. There seems to be no rhyme or reason.
And again, another garbage... installed, start, and wait, and wait and wait, screen still black...
good news aggregation plenty of sources of news with push service
