About this app

QuickMem is a flashcard app for people who would rather be studying than making cards. Now every card can be studied five ways: flip, multiple choice, type the answer, true or false, or fill in the blank.

Describe the deck you want and the Helper writes it. Make flashcards from a PDF or your notes, bring what you already have across with Anki import, and organise all of it by nesting decks inside decks. Then study only what is actually due today.


FIVE WAYS TO STUDY A CARD

Choose how a card is studied when you make it, and change it whenever you like.

• Flip: front and back. Turn it over and grade yourself.
• Multiple choice: pick the right answer from up to four. Leave the wrong answers empty and they are filled from other cards in the deck.
• Type the answer: type it out. Capitals, accents and extra spaces are forgiven.
• True or false: a statement that is either true or false, answered in one tap.
• Fill in the blank: a sentence with a missing word. Tap the words you want hidden.

Every type except Flip is marked for you: right or wrong shows in the card's colour, and you swipe it away. In the daily review right counts as Good and wrong as Again, so spaced repetition works whichever way you study.


THE HELPER WRITES YOUR CARDS

Tell it what you want, such as "20 cards on Spanish animals", and review every card before a single one is saved. Nothing lands in your deck without you seeing it first. The Helper writes flip cards, and any of them can be switched to another type in the card editor.

NESTED DECKS

A deck can live inside another deck. Put "Irregular Verbs" and "Food" under "Spanish", and the parent shows the total for everything beneath it.

Move a deck and everything inside comes along, progress kept. Delete one and you choose whether its contents go too.


STUDY THAT KNOWS WHAT YOU FORGOT

Spaced repetition schedules each card for the moment you are about to forget it, so a deck of 500 is a few minutes a day rather than an evening. A daily review tells you what is due and stops when you are done.


BRING WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE

• Anki import: open an .apkg file and keep your decks, notes and images
• Import from a PDF, a .txt or a .docx
• Read aloud, with the voice, speed and pitch set the way you like


SHARE WITH FRIENDS

Add a friend and share a deck with them, or send a deck as a link. Useful when a whole class is revising the same material. Card types travel with the deck.


QUICKMEM PLUS

The Helper's AI skills need QuickMem Plus, a subscription of $4.99 per month. It renews monthly until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from your Google Play account.

Everything else is free and stays free: making cards by hand in all five types, spaced repetition, nested decks, Anki import, read aloud and sharing.

QuickMem is available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai and Turkish. It follows the language your phone is already set to, and your own cards are left exactly as you wrote them.

FIVE WAYS TO STUDY A CARD. Choose how each card is studied: flip, multiple choice, type the answer, true/false or fill in the blank. Every type but flip is marked for you, and an answered card swipes away.

A TIDIER CARD EDITOR. Type and deck are two pills at the top, the tabs sit at the bottom, a template is one tap away, and it asks before throwing away an edit.

Also: a tall sheet no longer keeps bouncing after a fling, and image search is more reliable.
