A lifetime of money decisions, in one sitting.
Quidsmith puts you in charge of one person's finances from age 25 to age 100. Every year you choose where the money goes: savings, a cash ISA, a stocks and shares ISA, gilts, Premium Bonds, a pension, a house, a buy-to-let. Then you advance a year and find out what the economy, the market and life did about it.
Survive to 100 without your current account ever reaching zero. Most people don't.
A GROUNDED UK MODEL
Inflation, the base rate, wages and house prices move every year, and each asset responds in a way you will recognise. Cash barely keeps pace. Gilts pay a steady real return. Equities grow faster and
fall harder. Leverage on property cuts both ways. Tax wrappers behave like the real thing: an ISA shelters growth, a pension adds relief up front at the cost of access before 57, a Lifetime ISA
carries its bonus and its withdrawal charge.
LIFE GETS IN THE WAY
Boilers fail. Cars are written off. Jobs change. Care is needed. Dozens of events and life decisions arrive unannounced, and the bill grows as you age. An emergency fund is not optional advice here, it is the thing that stops one bad year ending the run.
MORE THAN MONEY
Diet, exercise and community are a standing carve-out of your living costs, and they shape your health, your care risk and your final Life Score. Finishing rich and unwell is a different ending from finishing rich and well.
WAYS TO PLAY
Five difficulties, from Easy to Reckoning, where wealth itself becomes a liability. A weekly challenge with a fixed seed, the same world for everyone that week. Sandbox mode, where you set the starting position and the economy yourself. Challenge rooms, to put friends in the identical world and rank them against each other. Fifty-five achievements across every run you ever play.
FREE, AND FREE OF TRICKS
The whole game is free. There is no energy meter, no timer, no paid shortcut and no advantage for sale. An optional account adds saves that follow you between devices, hiscores and challenge rooms. Everything else works offline, with no account at all.
An optional membership supports development and adds extras such as creating challenge rooms and profile badges. It never buys a better score.
Quidsmith is a game. Every figure, company and event in it is illustrative and simplified for play. It is not financial advice. For decisions about your own money, speak to a regulated adviser.
