About this app

Our Black History Inventors app for Android includes many amazing men and women. Some of these folks exhibited enough creative genius to receive U.S. patents. You can read and listen to inventor historical facts through your speaker or headphones.

Thanks for making these android apps! Though it seems like the summaries for some inventors are incomplete (Garrett T. Morgan also invented the precursor to the traffic light and also rescued some people with his gas mask) or in the case of Dr Charles Drew, why plasma was so important (fewer soldiers dying on the battlefield during that time). Those are the only two that I checked. Otherwise this is a very good app. Thanks!

Guy, thanks for supporting us. We've written about Garrett Morgan's traffic light innovations in a post called "Garrett Morgan Genius" from our "Black History People" blog. Long encyclopedia length info must be trimmed so that the text of the inventor summaries are short and snappy in this app. Watch our Nation of Inventors video for a deeper dive.

Really enjoy this app's immersion into black/Moorish American history. I noted Moorish American because the word black is an adjective and not a noun and it doesn't even accurately describe the color of our skin.

It would be nice if you could read all if the information. You can clearly see that there is more to read but it will not scroll down to read the rest.
