R1BBIT turns an ESP32 board into a connected device without a toolchain.
The firmware carries an interpreter for R1BBIT-BASIC, a compact scripting language where one text file holds both your logic and your hardware setup. You write the script in the app or in the browser, send it over the air, and the board runs it. Nothing is compiled and nothing is reflashed.
WHAT THE APP DOES
• Live dashboard. Every variable your board publishes becomes a tile: numbers, gauges, charts, switches and sliders. Move a slider and the board reacts.
• Terminal. Send a command to the board, watch the output, restart the script, from anywhere with a signal.
• Editor. Write R1BBIT-BASIC on the phone with coloured syntax, autocomplete, hints for every argument and the same error checking as the browser.
• AI assistant. Describe what the device should do and it writes the script, explains a command or finds the error you cannot. Its answers are checked against the real command reference first.
• Documentation. The full command reference in five languages, searchable, no connection needed.
• Push notifications. One line in your script and the phone buzzes when a sensor crosses a limit, even with the app closed.
SUPPORTED HARDWARE
ESP32-S3, ESP32-P4, ESP32-C6, ESP32-C3, the classic ESP32 and the S3 without PSRAM. Displays, cameras, audio codecs, LED matrices and I2C or SPI sensors are named in a CONFIG block at the top of the script. It describes the peripherals and pins, not the board model, so swapping an ILI9341 display for an ST7789 is two edited lines.
WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUILD
Telemetry is stored and charted for you, so there is no backend to write or host. Firmware and scripts arrive over the air, encrypted. Every device gets a remote terminal and a file manager. The board can fetch data from any web API by itself.
IF YOU CAME TO ESP32 THROUGH THE ARDUINO IDE
You know the price of every change: recompile, plug in the cable, reflash, and repeat until the logic settles. Here a change is an edited line sent over the air, and the firmware itself never changes.
WHAT PEOPLE BUILD
Smart home controls for heating and air conditioning. Greenhouse and weather monitoring. Robotics and school projects. Refrigeration and equipment monitoring. LED signs and light art. Internet radio players and media gadgets.
GETTING STARTED
Flash any supported ESP32 board once from the browser over USB, sign in, and the device shows up in the app. After that everything happens over the air: no cable, no toolchain and no server of your own.
