The application was developed for a meteorology project at IES Trafalgar (Barbate, Cádiz). This tool offers real-time climatological data for the La Janda Litoral region.
Main features:
Real-time data: Temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, precipitation, and wind (speed, gust, and direction) obtained from stations located in Barbate and Vejer de la Frontera.
Station management: Registered users can add their own weather stations. It is also possible to search for and import public weather stations from the Meteoclimatic network to expand the coverage of observational data.
Atmospheric analysis: Calculation of dew point, fog risk levels, cloud base estimation, absolute humidity, and actual wind chill.
Astronomy and radiation: Lunar phases, UV index, solar irradiance, and accurate recording of minutes of effective sunshine.
Marine module and tides: Local tide table with coefficients, water temperature, currents, sea state, and wave evolution (height, period, and direction).
Weather forecast: Short-term local forecast using the Zambretti algorithm and detailed hourly forecast combining the ICON, GFS, AROME, and WRF models.
Environmental alerts: Automatic wildfire risk warnings based on the 30-30-30 rule and pollen concentration levels broken down by type (grasses, trees, etc.).
History and graphs: Climate summaries, interactive trend lines for the last 24 hours, and climographs applying the Gaussen aridity index.
Spot community: Directory of coastal locations with collaborative information, reviews, and verified photos uploaded by users.
Customization: Instant conversion between unit systems (metric and imperial) for all recorded parameters.
Applied Physics: Brief explanations of the calculated variables.
