Radio Indígena is a project of the migrant Indigenous community that works on the central coast of California. Radio Indígena began in 2014. Since then, the goal of our station is to share our music and Indigenous traditions with the world. We also share relevant information to our community on issues of Health, Labor Rights, Immigration, among others. Finally, Radio Indígena's mission is to train members of our community to become radio hosts. Our radio station plays Indigenous music and shares information in Indigenous languages (Mixtec, Zapotec, Purepecha, Triqui, and more) for those who live and work in Oxnard, California, and around the world. All our effort is put towards the construction of a radio station that will serve to improve our community and to give the Indigenous community and their children an opportunity to share our Indigenous cultures and traditions with the world.
