About this app

nfcify reads, writes and manages NFC tags. Hold your phone to a tag to see what's on it, put new records on it in a few taps, or copy, erase, password-protect and lock the tags you own.

READ ANY TAG
• See every record on a tag: links, text, phone numbers, SMS, email, map locations, contact cards, Wi-Fi networks, Android app records and MIME data.
• Find out which chip it is, including NTAG213, NTAG215, NTAG216, NTAG 424 DNA, MIFARE Ultralight, MIFARE DESFire, ISO 15693 and FeliCa tags.
• Check the UID, the tag technologies, how much memory is used, and whether the tag is still writable.
• See whether an iPhone would open the tag on its own, before you hand it to someone.
• Every scan is saved to a history on your phone, so you can look at a tag again later.

WRITE WHAT YOU NEED
• Write a link, text, phone number, SMS, email, location, contact card, Wi-Fi network, Android app record (AAR), MIME record or raw record.
• Put several records on one tag and change their order.
• A capacity meter shows how much room is left on your chip before you write.
• Blank tags are formatted for you on the first write.
• nfcify tells you when the first record is something iPhones won't open without an app, so tags you write work on both kinds of phone.

COPY, ERASE, PASSWORD, LOCK
• Copy: read one tag and write the same content to another.
• Erase: leave a tag with an empty message, ready to use again.
• Password: set or remove a write password on NTAG21x and MIFARE Ultralight EV1 tags.
• Lock: make a tag read-only for good. nfcify asks twice first, because there's no undo.

WHAT YOU NEED
An Android phone with NFC turned on, and an NFC tag, sticker or card. MIFARE Classic tags only work on phones with an NXP NFC chip.
