If you just bought this and are installing the app, just return it and save yourself the pain. Yes, it can work. And it's good data when it does. But if _ANYTHING_ goes wrong you are stuck in support hell. PG&E replaced the meter? Zombie meter on your account kills every other services ability to use this data. Contact support to have zombie removed? After explicitly telling you they will leave the connected meter and delete the zombie one, they still delete the connected one.

From the standpoint of a free app that taps into Rainforest's (economically priced) hardware, it's a perfectly functional app. Does it have room for improvement? Absolutely... One thing I'd like to see is a quicker way to switch between two devices/meters. Right now, it's seven taps through menus to flip views for dual meter properties. I suspect this app is OEM, though, and we likely won't see any updates from Rainforest. I've got say, though, Rainforest's support staff are absolutely great!

Graph of usage is extremely frustrating. It usually doesn't show upon going into Utility Meter. Exit and re-enter and wait? Maybe then, maybe not. There's no way to zoom in or see exactly when the energy usage changes. Isn't this the whole purpose of the app? They finally have utility TOU pricing plans built in which is very welcome but show me the totally price over a day or week or month would be much better than just the current cost of energy being used. As I said, better than it was.
