About this app

This app, Carnatic, is a simple carnatic music notation player. It plays harmonium sound for each swaram (note).

Firstly, it has built-in notation for basic carnatic lessons. These are useful for carnatic music practice. Students can practice carnatic basic lessons in any and all the melakartha ragams! It plays 3 kalam speed for each lesson and will continuously advance to the next lesson.

Next, it has an interface to type the notation for any song you want in any ragam and the app will play it. If you want to play the notation for any janya ragam, then just set the ragam to its melakartha and type the swarams, you should hear the janya ragam notes.

It can be used to workout kalpana swarams korvais etc.

Excellent app. The notation feature is especially great. One question: if we want to play in double speed we put the notations between two * (Kalam 2) What should be do to have it play in Kalam 3 speed?

I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across this app. I thought such a thing didn't exist ! It does everything that one would want . Facility to enter notes in upper and lower octaves directly is a good innovation. There is one little snag. In the notation screen, ii is not possible to scroll to the beginning if there are more lines. If there is a vertical scroll bar on the right, it would help. A single voice is another limitation. A broader choice is definitely welcome. Best Regards

It's a very good app...it would be really better if this app provides facility to hear one exercise repeatedly... because after one exercise is over..it just switches to other one ...so setting included to hear one exercise in repeat mode will be even more better..and in jantai varisai 9th exercise ...there is some mistake ...it would be better if it is corrected..
