About this app

The newest thing I have ever seen is the book form of a diary written in the light of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's experience of traveling to China. The Bangla Academy has published the book centering on the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and its wrapper has been unveiled at the inaugural function of the most recent Amar Ekushey Book Fair. The book has been edited by former director general of Bangla Academy and folk researcher Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan and the introduction has been written by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the eldest daughter of Bangabandhu. Like the two previously published books, this book is also copyrighted in the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust.

A peace conference was held in Beijing, China on October 2-12, 1952 with the representatives of the Asian and Pacific countries, with the participation of delegates from India and Pakistan. Apart from Bangabandhu from the then East Pakistan and present Bangladesh, Ataur Rahman, Manik Mia, Khandaker Md. Several people, including Elias, participated. This is Bangabandhu's first visit to China. During the visit, Bangabandhu met the undisputed leader of China, Mao Zedong. During this time he witnessed the political and socio-economic situation in China. He also visited China for the second time in 1958 as the Minister of Industry, Commerce, Labor, Anti-Corruption and Village-Aid. In the light of these experiences of traveling to China, he wrote a diary in which he vividly discussed the socio-political situation of Pakistan and China at that time, the practice of democracy in the communist state and so on. Most recently, this diary has been published in the form of a book called New China. Note that earlier this book was to be published under the name of New China Travel.
