Record video in 10-bit, 8-Bit or even RAW.

RawCine records unprocessed sensor data — real Bayer RAW video — and exports it as a CinemaDNG sequence that
opens directly in DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects and Nuke. No desktop software needed.

BEFORE YOU INSTALL
RAW video needs camera hardware that supports it. Most flagships from 2019 onward do; many budget phones do not.
RawCine tells you exactly what your phone can do on first launch, free, before you record anything. Open the capability report and it names your camera's real resolutions, bit depths, frame rates and sustained write speed — not a marketing claim, a measurement.

WHAT IT RECORDS
• True Bayer RAW video, lossless-compressed, at your sensor's full resolution
• 2x2 binned RAW — the same data at half the linear resolution and a quarter the size
• 10-bit HEVC video, HLG where your phone's camera can produce it, at about a twentieth the size of RAW
• Widescreen when you hold the phone sideways and the sensor's full height when you hold it upright, with a
size limit you can set for each
• 24-bit PCM audio alongside the picture, exported as a broadcast WAV
• Gyroscope and accelerometer data logged through the take, for stabilisation in post

WHAT IT EXPORTS
• CinemaDNG sequences with correct colour matrices, black levels and white balance
• Linear DNG, uncompressed TIFF, or an H.264 proxy, chosen per editor
• A shot report naming every frame, every gap and every setting the take was shot at
• MP4 takes that play and cut anywhere, with no export step at all

MADE FOR PEOPLE WHO GRADE
Manual exposure with real shutter angles and ISO stops. Manual focus with peaking and a focus-distance scale.
White balance in kelvin or from a grey card. Histogram, waveform, RGB parade, zebras, false colour, a horizon
level and framing guides. Timecode, reel names and clip numbering that a DIT will recognise.

HONEST ABOUT FILE SIZES
RAW video files are very large — roughly 8 GB per minute at full sensor resolution, which fills a phone in
minutes. Check the built-in capability report for what your phone can sustain. Takes are 10-bit video by
default, at about 1 GB per minute; RAW is one tap away when you want it, and a per-take size or duration cap
stops any mode from filling your storage.

WHAT RAWCINE NEVER DOES
• Never uploads anything you record. There is no server, no account, and no upload path in the app at all
• Never records location data in any file it writes. It holds no location permission
• Never needs root, and behaves identically on a rooted and an unrooted phone
• Never writes outside its own storage, except to a folder you picked yourself

EXPERIMENTAL CONTROLS, SAFELY
Some phones expose camera controls Android does not document. RawCine can offer them, one at a time, behind a
journal that survives a crash — so a control that takes the camera down is identified by name and disabled
permanently, rather than taking it down again.
