Easy Unrar uses the Android file picker (Storage Access Framework): no storage permission and no "all files" access. You pick the file or folder — nothing else is touched.

EDIT: changed my review and rate. I finally have something I wanted to compress but the UI sucks. I can't select folders I wanted I wanted to compress folders but won't allow me cause I can only select 1 fonder. I went back to 4.7 version it's much better.

used this app for quite some time now uninstalled it after the most recent update. It's slower, less intuitive, and just outright worse than it ever had been, disappointing really considering I really liked it up to this point. If I could rate it zero stars for the state it's in now I gladly would.

worst update EVER. turned it back to what it was before!
