About this app

The Celebrity Cruises app guides you through your upcoming vacation. From booking cruises and pre-cruise purchases through check-in and departure, use the app to plan your entire voyage. And make sure you turn on auto-updates, so you can keep up with all of the ways we improve the app. Features may vary from ship to ship. App is free to download and use. In-app purchases available. Once onboard, connect to your ship's guest Wi-Fi. No internet package required.

Before your vacation, you can:

● Book a cruise
● Sign into your account to view your booked cruises (must be at least 13 years old to have a guest account)
● Complete check-in – scan travel documents and select your arrival time
● Link reservations with other guests so you can make plans together
● Make dining, spa and shore excursions reservations to take advantage of pre-cruise savings
● Purchase and upgrade internet and beverage packages
● Learn about the ship’s activity, entertainment, and dining venues, including menus, and view deck maps

Once onboard, connect to ship Wi-Fi so you can:

● Complete the guest safety briefing on your time before setting sail. The app will even help you out with a reminder notification.
● Chat with family, friends, and fellow travelers
● Make specialty and Celebrity Select dining reservations
● Quickly and conveniently reserve shore excursions
● Plan each day by browsing daily activities and saving them to your calendar. Notifications will remind you when you have plans.
● Find your way around with complete deck plans
● Track your onboard expense account in the app (or not… after all you’ll be on vacation!)
● Get started on your next vacation by booking another cruise

Good but could be great. Maps need to be interactive. Tap on restaurant, be brought to menus or other information about the venue. This is not the case. Overall worked well and reliable. No outages. Internal communication through the app (texting) could not be made to "ding"or in some way notify the person that they received a message so was pretty worthless.

Barely functional without purchasing the internet packages the ship offers. That's the context surrounding the review. The messaging service they offer through the app is barely functional. You're required to connect to the WiFi even if you don't have Internet access, to use the messenger. To do that, you must be in airplane mode. Even then, you have to restart the app a few times to get it to load properly. Glaring issues to users without the WiFi or a data connection.

I've used this app for multiple trips per year since it was introduced, and it has consistently been unstable and awkward to use. It crashes at least 20% of the times it's opened, it fails to update when they push a new schedule and must be force closed and reopened, and often urgent notices (such as itinerary changes) will only show up on the apps of one or two people in my party, while the others are never notified. This is on multiple phone OSs over several years, no app improvement.

What's new

With this release, we’re introducing a new Home experience for users that don’t have a cruise booked and a Loyalty Hub to track or enroll in our loyalty program and learn more about the benefits by tier. Listing pages for shore excursions, beverage packages and internet plans now include pricing and highlight offerings that are sold out, almost sold out, or already reserved. Make sure you turn on auto-updates, so you can keep up with all of the ways we improve the app.
