Are there any plans for the remote recording feature to be reinstated? If not, I'm not really sure what the point of this app is. PS. Nice to work out the feature has been disabled via a Google search when trying to fix it, after missing TV shows I thought had been recorded. No notification from Freesat themselves, and the feature is still on the app and in the box's settings, lulling you into thinking it actually exists. Poor guys, very poor 🤦

Like many, I am disappointed about the removal of Freesat IDs by Freesat. This means that the remote recording function no longer works, but the app has not been updated to reflect this. Freesat has long been dogged by phantom recording bugs, so I think that is the reason this feature has been dropped. That said, a lack of announcements or updates that fully reflect the change is very poor. The alternative seems to be Freely, but you need to buy a new TV as there are no available boxes.

Three years ago when I installed this app, I gave it 5 stars and rated it 'superb'. I'm now editing this review to rate as one star and 'absolute waste of time'. The ability to set recordings from anywhere in the World from your phone was invaluable to me. This facility, I've discovered, after 3 months of frustration, was removed without warning or courtesy of notification. Woeful betrayal of loyal customers by Freesat. Interesting that their facility to provide iplayer is now also withdrawn.
